20 seconds of mindfulness in a most unlikely place

Green cleaning company Bio-D has created a simple guide for ‘20 seconds of mindfulness’ in a most unlikely place to help ease the nation back into normality.

We all know that meditation and mindfulness have a range of benefits; from reducing stress, to aiding relaxation, keeping calm and even improving digestion.

However, as we slowly make our way out of the final stages of lockdown, it is inevitable that we will struggle to find time for ourselves whilst making up for lost time meeting friends, getting back into the workplace, and making memories with the family.

That’s why Bio-D is encouraging people to find calm in a seemingly unlikely place – at the sink whilst washing our hands!

According to University College London, we should currently be washing our hands six to 10 times a day. Each time we go to the sink, we’re spending 20 uninterrupted seconds alone with our thoughts – making it the perfect place to clear our minds and mentally refresh.

Lloyd Atkin, Managing Director of Bio-D, says: “Whilst it’s brilliant that we’re making steps back to normality, it’s likely that many will feel overwhelmed after spending months in our own homes.

“We hope that our simple mindfulness guide will give even the busiest people the chance to take 20 seconds to breath deep, keep calm and reset ready to take on the day.”

The mindfulness guide also coincides with the launch of Bio-D’s new plum and mulberry hand wash fragrance, which is now available from the Bio-D website, in store at selected independent stores, and in store and online at Robert Dyas.

Containing 100% naturally derived ingredients, the new plum and mulberry scent has joined Bio-D’s existing range; lime and aloe vera and fragrance free.

The green cleaning company has also updated its geranium scented hand wash, adding the citrus flavour of grapefruit to refresh the fan favourite.

As well as being suitable for vegans, 100% of Bio-D’s hand wash bottles are created from post-consumer waste that may have ended up in landfill or incineration. The bottles are also recyclable!
