25 Years of the Literary Lunch.

Brown’s Books – celebrating 25 years of The Literary Lunch.

Browns Books is delighted to be celebrating 25 years of the Hull & East Yorkshire Literary Lunch with THREE guest speakers this November: David Wilbourne – writer and broadcaster; Lesley Pearse – global no.1 best seller and former Playboy Bunny; and Alan Johnson, former Labour Party politician.

The three authors will be talking about their writing, and signing copies of their books at the Hull and East Yorkshire 71st Literary Lunch on Wednesday 14th November at 12.00noon for 12.30pm at the Willerby Manor Hotel, The Pavilion Suite, Well Lane, Willerby.

David Wilbourne has spent the majority of his Ministry in Yorkshire, and was Vicar of Helmsley for twelve years and a canon of York Minster. Between 2009 and 2017 he was the Assistant Bishop of Llandaff, working with the Archbishop of Wales, before returning to Yorkshire to be an Honorary Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of York.

Lesley Pearse is a global No.1 bestseller with fans across the world and sales of over 10 million copies of her books to date. One of the nation’s best-loved storytellers, Lesley is a master of the gripping storyline, always introducing her readers to characters that are impossible not to care about or forget.

From being transported by the sound of ‘True Love’ by Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly on the radio, as a small child living in condemned housing in un-gentrified West London in the late 1950s, to going out to work as a postman humming ‘Watching the Detectives’ by Elvis Costello in 1977, Alan Johnson‘s life has always had a musical soundtrack. In fact music hasn’t just accompanied his life, it’s been an integral part of it.
