It’s a double celebration for Yorkshire Financial Planning, as both of its co-founders have been named finalists at one of the UK’s most prestigious industry awards.

Caroline Allen and Joanne Baker, who set up the boutique firm together just four years ago, are each contenders for the Financial Adviser of the Year – North East award at the prestigious Women in Financial Advice Awards 2025.
With women making up just 16% of financial advisers in the UK, these awards celebrate excellence and impact in a sector where women remain significantly underrepresented
Caroline Allen, Co-owner and Director, said:
“In a profession built on trust, integrity and long-term relationships, this recognition reflects the commitment we’ve made to helping our clients achieve financial freedom and supporting the wider community with their financial wellbeing.
“Being named as finalists at the Professional Adviser Women in Financial Advice Awards is both an honour and a reminder of the importance of representation, resilience and innovation in our industry. It’s a celebration of the progress we’ve made and the work still ahead to empower women in finance. We are proud to stand alongside so many inspiring professionals who are shaping the future of financial advice.”
In addition to one-to-one advice, they also deliver financial education sessions within businesses, giving employees the knowledge and confidence to navigate their personal finances. This includes help with pensions, budgeting and retirement planning.
Joanne Baker, Co-owner and Director, added:
“We believe financial advice should be empowering, inclusive and deeply personal. Whether we’re guiding someone through a major life transition or helping a team better understand their pensions, our goal is always the same – to make financial wellbeing accessible and achievable for everyone. We also hope our journey encourages more women to consider careers in financial advice.”
The winners will be announced at the Women in Financial Advice Awards ceremony on Wednesday 12th November at the Marriott London Grosvenor Square.
The awards honour the achievements of women making their mark in financial services, along with those driving real change towards gender balance. They also recognise how far the industry has come, whilst acknowledging the challenges that remain – from the gender pay gap to the lack of senior female representation.
