Nominations are still open for this year’s CHAMPS Awards. CHAMPS (Caring, Helpful and Amazing People) celebrates unpaid carers in Hull who give their time and energy to look after family members, friends and neighbours.

Run by City Health Care Partnership CIC’s Carers’ Information and Support Service (CISS), CHAMPS celebrates and thanks unpaid carers for what they do and for the vital contribution they make to the people and families they support.
“Many carers don’t identify themselves in this way, they just feel they’re doing what anyone would do to look after people they love,” said service manager Julie Bahn. “But our service exists to help carers because we know how hard they work and how crucial their help is for so many people.
“The CHAMPS awards are a chance for everyone to show their appreciation for unpaid carers. The winners and runners-up are invited to a glittering ceremony and slap-up dinner at the Guildhall in Hull as a small token of gratitude for their incredible work.”
The ceremony will take place on Tuesday 25th November. The awards are sponsored by local businesses, including Sowden and Sowden, D3 Office Group, Home Instead, Unite the Union and CHCP.
There are nine categories to choose from, including Young, Older and Parent carer. To nominate someone for an award, just fill in a simple form on CHCP’s website. For more information, call 01482 222220.
Closing date: Monday 26th September.
