Hull bus team don their Christmas jumpers to raise money for local children

Hull bus Drivers, Engineers, Cleaners and Support teams are putting on their Christmas jumpers to raise vital funds for charity.

Throughout December, the team from Stagecoach East Midlands’ Hull depot are dusting off their “funky, sparkly, jingling, and joyfully OTT” Christmas jumpers and brightening the run-up to Christmas for all their passengers, as the operator continues to raise money for Mission Christmas.

Mission Christmas sees Stagecoach East Midlands partner with Hits Radio’s ‘Cash for Kids’ campaign, collecting Christmas gifts for children living in poverty.

The scheme supports disadvantaged children, who would otherwise wake up on Christmas morning without a gift to unwrap, by collecting gift donations at drop-off points around the region. Stagecoach is helping with this effort by collecting gifts from local businesses and members of the public.

Later in the month, on 15th December and 16th December, the bus will tour all Stagecoach East Midlands’ own depots, to allow generous members of the team to make their own donations. Last year, Stagecoach East Midlands’ team donated a total of 671 gifts, for children in our region to receive a present from Santa.

Matt Cranwell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “As we run up to the festive people, we are pleased brighten up our customers’ day and, by doing so, help young people, in our region, who really need our help. It is always fun to see the team in their Christmas jumpers, and I am proud of the effort to spread a little festive cheer.

“We wish all our passengers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
