Homelessness charity launches 10K fundraising appeal for its 10th anniversary

Homelessness charity Emmaus Hull & East Riding has launched a fundraising appeal as part of its upcoming 10-year anniversary.

Emmaus is celebrating their residential community’s 10th anniversary in February 2026. The 10K for 10 years appeal aims to raise £10,000 to help towards supporting people who experience homelessness across Hull and East Riding. The Orchard is Emmaus Hull & East Riding’s purpose-built community building with 30 en-suite bedrooms. Since opening its community doors in 2016, Emmaus Hull & East Riding has provided a safe home, tailored support, training and life-changing opportunities to hundreds of people seeking a fresh start.

Angela, companion at Emmaus Hull and East Riding, comments on the importance of support, “To everyone who supports Emmaus, keep coming in and supporting us! We’re very grateful for what you do and couldn’t achieve what we do, without you.”

Over the last decade, the organisation has continued to grow, expanding its social enterprises, support services, and outreach programmes to meet rising demand in the region. To mark this milestone, the charity is inviting supporters, partners, local businesses, and community members to come together and help raise £10,000 leading up to the anniversary month in February.

All funds raised will go directly towards sustaining and expanding services that provide for a home and ongoing support to help people rebuild their lives after homelessness.

Stephanie Dixon, Chief Executive of Emmaus Hull & East Riding, said:

“Reaching our 10-year anniversary is a moment of real pride. Over the last decade, we’ve seen lives transformed through community, purpose, and opportunity. Our ‘10K for 10 Years’ campaign is not just a celebration, it’s a call to action.

“Every pound raised will help us continue delivering vital support for people across Hull and the East Riding who need it most.”

The charity is encouraging creative and community-led fundraising efforts from sponsored walks and bake sales to workplace challenges and donation drives. Supporters can also make a online donation to help reach the £10,000 goal via the Emmaus Hull and East Riding website.
