From iconic music history and spellbinding family concerts to razor-sharp stand-up and improvised comedy, Hull Theatres welcomes an eclectic mix of world-class entertainment in 2026, with tickets for a host of standout shows now on sale.

First out of the blocks is Colliderfest, which makes a welcome return across the city in March including a fascinating evening with scientist, presenter and author Dame Maggie Aderin-Pocock who explores The Four Big Questions About Space And Astronomy at Hull City Hall on Friday 13th March. Plus, there’s a chance to put your new knowledge to the test that very evening as scientist, writer, educator and comedian Simon Watt hosts a hilarious evening of quiz-cum-cabaret with Universilly Challenged in the Hull City Hall Mortimer Suite. Expect lots of laughter, friendly competition and, er, science as teams compete for the ultimate prize….(well, pasta actually!).
As we move towards autumn the focus shifts to New Dawn Fades – A Play About Joy Division and Manchester, which arrives at Hull City Hall on Saturday 26 September as part of its highly anticipated UK tour. The critically acclaimed production tells the story of four young men from 1970s Manchester who went on to form Joy Division, one of the most influential bands of all time, before emerging again as New Order following the tragic death of frontman Ian Curtis.
If you’re looking for something a little more family friendly the Princess Proms at Hull New Theatre on Saturday 26 September is a spectacular live concert celebrating the music of much-loved animated classics and modern favourites. Featuring songs from Frozen, Wicked, Moana, Beauty And The Beast, Aladdin, Anastasia, Pocahontas and more, performered by West End artists, promising an unforgettable night of nostalgia and wonder.
Speaking of wonder, Paul Merton and Suki Webster bring an evening of sensational improvised comedy to Hull New Theatre on Friday 9 October. Joined by improv virtuoso Mike McShane and special guests, the show delivers fast-paced games, spontaneous storytelling and surreal laughs, that will have you wondering how they do it.
Continuing the belly laughs, Hull’s own Lucy Beaumont returns to Hull City Hall on Friday 23rd October with her new stand-up show Bad at Quiz Shows, Good with Weirdos. Following a sell-out debut tour, Beaumont’s latest show draws on a chaotic year of television appearances, public mishaps and gloriously odd observations, cementing her reputation for turning everyday disasters into comedy gold.
Tickets for all events are on sale now. Book at the Hull City Hall Box Office, call 01482 300 306 or visit www.hulltheatres.co.uk.
