Dive beneath the waves at The Deep this February half-term

February half-term is set to be a splash at Hull’s iconic aquarium, as visitors dive beneath the waves and discover the fascinating world of marine animal behaviour.

Marking Valentine’s Day, the event pairs the theme of love with the world of nature in this fact-filled event, held from 14th to 22nd February.

‘Love Beneath the Waves’ will feature live presentations at 12pm and 2pm with interactive games, a colouring activity and even pebble painting to get involved in!

For £2 per pebble, visitors are invited to get hands-on and creative, choosing the perfect pebble to gift to a loved one, just like The Deep’s penguins do!

Another highlight includes a dedicated scavenger hunt around the aquarium, learning all about specific breeding behaviours, with the four selected species being especially unique in either courtship rituals or rearing offspring.

With funny and flirtatious dances, colourful displays, and clever courtship tricks, the event is ideal for curious families of all ages.

John Andrews, Head of Operations & Guides at The Deep, said: “Love Beneath the Waves is gearing up to be an exciting week for families to enjoy at The Deep this February half-term.

“Alongside our daily talks, there’s plenty for visitors of all ages to get involved in and we hope to see many of you with us!”

Every standard admission ticket is an Annual Pass, so just pay once and enjoy unlimited free return visits for a full 12 months. What’s more, your ticket helps directly support The Deep as a conservation and education charity with a mission to protect our oceans.
