A Yorkshire Wolds brewery has announced a sporting theme for its monthly special edition beers in 2026.

Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery will launch a series of beers brewed to celebrate iconic sporting events, including the Winter Olympics, Six Nations rugby, the World Cup, the Commonwealth Games, Wimbledon, and the Masters golf.
Commenting on the rationale for the range, Wold Top’s marketing exec Hannah Hatfield said: “As keen supporters of grassroots sport in the region, we decided to celebrate such an amazing year of sporting events with some new and different beers.
“Our limited edition beers include golden beer, Bluebird Day, in celebration of the Winter Olympics in Italy; English IPA, Drop Goal for the Six Nations rugby; citrus, hoppy ale, The Bunker for the golf Masters; tropical session IPA, Full Time for the FIFA World Cup, and floral ale, Final Sprint to celebrate the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. In May, we celebrate our 10 year association with the semi-professional Wold Top Pactimo race team and the annual staging of the Sundown 60 sportive with sparkling, crisp ale, Hello Velo.
“All the seasonal beers are gluten free and canned and kegged formats are suitable for vegans. They will be available in casks for people to enjoy while watching sport in the pub, or cans for at-home viewing.”
In addition to the sponsorship of the Wold Top Pactimo race team, Wold Top’s sport in the community initiatives include the annual Wold Top All Terrain run and sponsorship of local clubs, including Scarborough cricket, Bridlington Road Runners, Active Filey and Driffield and Bridlington Rugby Clubs.
Wold Top Brewery was founded in 2003 and is located on the Mellor family farm at Hunmanby Grange near Filey. The team uses home-grown barley and water from the farm’s borehole to produce a range of cask, keg, canned and bottled beers which are available throughout Yorkshire and nationwide.
