Wilkin Chapman Rollits has been named Best Place to Work at the HullBID Awards 2026, capping off a significant year for the leading regional law firm.

The firm took home the award at the recent ceremony at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Hull centre, having been shortlisted alongside Hudgell Solicitors and Holiday Inn Express (Foremost Hotels).
Judges highlighted Wilkin Chapman Rollits’ modern culture “with each individual at the heart of the firm’s ambitious plans”, all adding up to a “place of opportunity for all”. They also praised the pay and benefits offered to staff.
The award follows a pivotal year for the leading regional law firm. April 2025 saw the merger of Grimsby-headquartered Wilkin Chapman LLP and Hull-based Rollits LLP, bringing together more than 300 years of legal heritage.
As part of the merger, the headcount in the firm’s Hull office in High Street increased by about 50 people, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to the city centre. The firm now has more than 530 staff and partners working across its offices in Grimsby, Lincoln, Louth, Hull, York and Beverley.
The post-merger period has also seen significant investment in people, culture and workplace experience. The firm has also continued to strengthen its regional and national capability across its private client and commercial services.
Chris Drinkall, partner and joint head of the firm’s Hull office, was among those accepting the award on the night. He said: “This has been a huge year of change for us, and this award is testament to the hard work and commitment shown by everyone at Wilkin Chapman Rollits.
“The teamwork, commitment and positive culture have been outstanding and the whole firm is extremely proud of this recognition.”
James Marsden, partner and joint head of the Hull office, added: “This award reflects the progress we’ve made over the past year and the way the whole team has embraced change with purpose and pride.
“As a firm, we are proud of what we’re building together and the opportunities it brings for all our colleagues.”
