Wilkin Chapman Rollits expands Lincoln presence with recoveries firm acquisition

Law firm Wilkin Chapman Rollits has expanded its Lincoln operations with the acquisition of Nottingham-based recoveries practice Legal Recoveries and Collections Ltd (LRC).

Rachel Rowbotham, Chris Grocock and Claire Stocks

Completed on 1st April, the acquisition comes exactly one year after the merger of Wilkin Chapman LLP and Rollits LLP, and is expected to increase the turnover of the firm’s recoveries department to around £9m.

The investment is part of the Lincolnshire and Yorkshire firm’s strategy to build its regional capability and national reach, and strengthen the services available to its clients.

As part of the acquisition, eight staff from LRC have joined the recoveries team at Wilkin Chapman Rollits and will be based at the firm’s Lincoln office at the Maltings on Brayford Wharf East. Their arrival means the firm has a dedicated recoveries team in the city for the first time.

The new team brings additional specialist legal expertise into Lincoln and expands the firm’s offering across recoveries, litigation and insolvency services in sectors such as healthcare, education and commercial services, where LRC has longstanding client relationships.

Chris Grocock, senior partner and head of recoveries at Wilkin Chapman Rollits, said:
“The acquisition represents a significant investment in our Lincoln office and strengthens our position as a leading provider of recoveries, litigation and insolvency services.

“By integrating the experienced team from LRC, we are better able to support clients with their complex and high-volume recovery needs, both regionally and nationally.

“This is the first time we have had a dedicated recoveries team based in Lincoln, and is an important step in line with our vision to be an outstanding regional firm with national reach.”

LRC has provided specialist recoveries and enforcement services for more than two decades, including pre-legal recoveries, litigation and enforcement.

The incoming team includes LRC directors Rachel Rowbotham and Claire Stocks, who join Wilkin Chapman Rollits as senior associates.

Rachel Rowbotham, senior associate at Wilkin Chapman Rollits, said: “Becoming part of Wilkin Chapman Rollits is an exciting step for us. Our work has always been driven by personal relationships and a client-centred approach, and we have already seen that reflected in the firm’s vision and values. We’re excited to join the team and to continue supporting our longstanding clients, as well as working with many new ones.”

With over 520 staff and partners across a network of locations in Grimsby, Lincoln, Louth, Hull, York and Beverley, Wilkin Chapman Rollits provides trusted legal and insolvency advice to both private and commercial clients.
