The contract will see Sewell Facilities Management (FM) looking after facilities management services for the wind farm’s on-shore converter stations in East Yorkshire and Redcar.

Once complete, Dogger Bank will become the world’s largest offshore wind farm, generating 5% of the UK’s electricity, equivalent to powering almost 6 million homes. Sewell FM will be providing facilities management services at the converter sites, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), grounds maintenance, water hygiene, cleaning and waste management.

Tom Farrow, Director at Sewell FM said: “We’re really excited to be starting this new contract with Dogger Bank Wind Farm, keeping their sites operating around the clock to power homes and businesses. Our multidisciplinary team of expert technicians will ensure the converter stations are kept in great condition, so that the Dogger Bank staff are able to concentrate on providing green electricity to the country.”

Sewell FM is headquartered in Hull, with offices in East Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and the North East, and works with organisations across the North of England, providing maintenance, compliance and safety services to keep buildings safe, comfortable and operational. The company provides support to its clients 24/7, from planned and reactive maintenance to making sure businesses are legally compliant with gas, water and fire regulations.

The contract with Dogger Bank Wind Farm is the latest in a number of successes for Sewell Facilities Management, with the company gaining an extra 120 properties to manage over the last year, including a new long-term partnership with Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
