Hull Theatres announces an exciting line-up of new shows on sale now at Hull New Theatre at Hull City Hall. There’s a fascinating journey through human history with Professor Alice Roberts, two breathtaking ballets from Varna International Ballet & Orchestra, riotous stand-up from Ross Noble and Simon Brodkin and a naughty night of nostalgia from Gareth Gates.

Professor Alice Roberts heads back to Hull City Hall on Thursday 5 November 2026 with her new show From Cell to Civilisation: Humankind, Genetics & Archaeology. Join Alice as she follows the footsteps of our ancestors from Africa to the Americas meeting other human species along the way. Examining the sophistication of some of the earliest civilisations, peer into the past and discover the answers to the questions that people have always asked about what it means to be human.
Over at Hull New Theatre, critically acclaimed Varna International Ballet make a welcome return a stunning new repertoire. One of the most romantic ballets of all time, Swan Lake brings Tchaikovsky’s haunting and unforgettable score to life on Monday 25 January 2027. From the impressive splendour of the palace ballroom to the moon-lit lake where swans glide in perfect formation, this compelling tale of tragic romance has it all as the swan queen Odette battles with the temptress Odile for the Prince’s heart in one of ballet’s most technical and spectacular challenges.
On the Tuesday 26 January 2027, step into a spellbinding world of beauty, jealousy and true love with the fairest ballet of them all, Snow White. Forced to flee when the vain Queen’s envy turns deadly, Snow White finds refuge with the lovable Seven Dwarfs and the creatures of the enchanted forest. But danger follows and a poisoned apple casts her into a deep sleep and only true love can break the spell. Filled with stunning choreography, vibrant characters, and the music of Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Pugni and Grieg, Snow White is a dazzling ballet for all ages – a story of hope, courage, and happily ever after.
Looking ahead to March, Ross Noble returns to Hull City Hall on Saturday 6 March 2027 with Cranium of Curiosities. He’s the Wizard of Waffle, The Rambler Royale, The Noodlers’ Noodler and he’s back on stage with a tornado of tangents. What the show will be about is anybody’s guess but it’s sure to be a hilarious evening of chaotic comedy.
The laughs continue on Sunday 11 April 2027 as Simon Brodkin brings his new show Unleashed to Hull City Hall. Simon’s previous work includes showering the FIFA president Sepp Blatter with cash, handing Theresa May her P45 and the smash-hit BBC comedy series Lee Nelson’s Well Good Show. This hysterical night is packed with outrageous punchlines and electric crowd work as Simon rips into wild swimmers, vape shops, Greta Thunberg, religion and his wife’s friends Claire & Carl.
Later in April, things start to heat up as Boyband in the Buff starring Gareth Gates brings the magic of the ‘90s and ‘00s to Hull City Hall on Saturday 17 April 2027. The ultimate throwback concert with a cheeky twist stars heartthrob Gareth Gates alongside a cast of seriously talented (and seriously ripped) performers. Expect slick harmonies, killer choreography and some of the biggest boyband hits of all time from the likes of The Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Westlife, and Take That in this high-energy celebration of pop perfection and perfectly sculpted physiques.
