Colleagues at Hull’s branch of Yorkshire Building Society are collecting donations such as dog toys, blankets, towels and treats, to support a local animal welfare charity.

The Society’s branch in Hull city centre on Paragon Street has become an official donation station for Hull Animal Welfare Trust. The items collected will be used to support the care of the animals currently in the care of the charity.
Hull Animal Welfare Trust is a local charity that works to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome unwanted and abandoned animals. It provides care, shelter and veterinary treatment for animals in need while they wait to be placed in suitable forever homes. The charity also promotes responsible pet ownership though advice, education and community outreach aiming to reduce neglect and improve animal welfare standards across the local area.
Nikki Clarke, customer consultant at the Hull branch of Yorkshire Building Society, said: “Hull Animal Welfare Trust does incredible work caring for vulnerable animals across our community, and we’re delighted to support them by becoming a donation drop-off point. We know how much people in Hull care about animal welfare, so we hope our collection will make it easy for customers and local residents to donate items that can help improve the comfort and wellbeing of animals waiting for their forever homes. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference.”
Kelly from the Hull Animal Welfare Trust said: “As a charity funded entirely by donations and legacies, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to provide shelter, veterinary care, behavioural support, re-homing services, neutering programmes, and education initiatives.
“Our promise is simple: no healthy animal is ever destroyed, no animal in distress is turned away, and every animal is matched with the right home.”
The collection will be running until 30th September and can be dropped into the branch between 9am – 4:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday or 9:30am – 4:30pm on a Wednesday.
