The Viewfinder Photographic Society’s (VPS) annual exhibitions get underway once again this autumn, running at Skidby Village Hall from 25th to 27th September and The Ferguson Fawsitt, Walkington from 2nd to 4th October.
Judging by last year’s numbers, the exhibitions are now a well-established part of each community’s event calendar, and the club is hoping to beat its record of nearly 600 visitors combined across both venues in 2026.
VPS Chairman, David Marshall, said: “Visitors can look forward to enjoying a diverse range of well over 100 images taken by our members over the past year. We’re always blown away by the lovely comments and compliments we receive from people in both communities, so it’s good to be able to give something back.”
Admission to the exhibition, a highlight of the club’s yearly programme, is again sponsored by Harris Lacey and Swain, Chartered Accountants. Entrance is free and visitors will be able to browse the pictures, vote for their favourite images, buy from stalls selling cards, prints and gift items or simply relax with a cup of tea or coffee and cake.
The Viewfinder Photographic Society is a friendly club of enthusiasts who meet regularly to support each other, exchange ideas and share expertise. It provides a place for members to learn more about their photography by being with others who share their passion.
Formed in 2007, the Viewfinder Photographic Society has steadily grown in size and popularity and now has a waiting list. Members meet weekly on Monday evenings at The Ferguson Fawsitt, Walkington (with the exception of the third Monday of the month and Bank Holidays) and occasionally via Zoom.
