Residents, families and team members at a Bridlington care home donned their capes for a superhero-themed celebration in support of Alzheimer’s Society.
Beechwood Care Centre held its Superhero Summer Party on Friday 28th August, with residents and visitors enjoying a day of music, crafts, activities, refreshments and superhero-themed fun.
The event formed part of Highgate Care’s wider Superhero Summer initiative, celebrating the everyday heroes who make a difference to residents and their local communities.
Residents, relatives and team members joined in the celebrations throughout the day, with the event providing an opportunity for everyone at the home to spend time together and enjoy something a little different.
The party also raised money for Alzheimer’s Society, supporting the charity’s work for people living with dementia and their families.
With September marking World Alzheimer’s Month, the event provided an opportunity for Beechwood to combine a celebration of its own everyday heroes with support for a cause that is particularly important to the home.

“There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day, with plenty of music, crafts, activities and laughter for everyone to enjoy.
“Our Superhero Summer Party was all about celebrating the everyday heroes who make a difference to the lives of our residents and our local community, while also raising money for Alzheimer’s Society. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special.”
