A Different Thread return to Hull to play at the iconic New Adelphi Club as part of their 20-date UK album release tour, sharing the stage with Northeast folk rock outfit Driven Serious.
Driven Serious is without a doubt one of the most engaging, energetic, original live folk-rock bands around in the UK today, Based in the North-East their new album: “Look On These Works” has been called “an incredibly engaging listen,” by Narc Magazine “whether it’s the monumental sounding strings that carry us through this adventure, or the war-like drums at the start of the title track, it’s an impressive experience.”
Sharing the stage is transatlantic Americana act A Different Thread. Alicia Best (USA) and Robert Jackson (UK) first met while busking on the streets of Ireland, discovering a musical and personal harmony that was entirely serendipitous. Joined by Mike Seal (Birmingham UK) the group has a distinctive sound that weaves Appalachian alt-country and British folk rock into a bluesy take on Americana.
Their newest album, Over Again (May 2026) marks a new chapter for the duo, shaped by their long-awaited move to North Carolina. The title track won ‘Best in Folk’ at the 2026 International Acoustic Music Awards and the album has earned praise from Rolling Stone Germany, BBC 6 Music, Americana UK, No Depression, and RnR Magazine, with critics highlighting their “harmonies to-die-for”, “exquisite songwriting.” and “all killer, no filler” approach.
