Three contemporary artists from the Pocklington area are coming together to present ‘SHARED SPACE’, a new exhibition running at the Pocklington Arts Centre from Saturday 31st October to Thursday 10th December.

‘SHARED SPACE’ celebrates the diverse creative landscape of the region, intertwining the practices of Bishop Wilton-based artists Colin and Judith Pollock with Pocklington based Peter Schoenecker.
While working across entirely distinct media – ranging from abstract oil painting to printmaking – the trio use this exhibition to showcase their creativity in one ‘shared space’. They provide a compelling narrative of current local contemporary art through line, mood and colour.
A special ‘Meet the Artists’ event will also take place at the Arts Centre on Friday 6th November from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, offering visitors the opportunity to discuss the collections directly with the three artists over a glass of wine.
Three artists, one shared vision
- Colin Pollock (Bishop Wilton): Exploring the delicate interplay of colour, form, line, and light, Colin brings a contemporary, abstracted sensibility to his work. His portfolio features striking interpretations of traditional still life alongside evocative local landscape paintings.
- Judith Pollock (Bishop Wilton): Working in printmaking and mixed media, Judith’s pieces are rooted in the natural and human made world. Much of her art serves as a visual commentary on the ongoing human impact on the environment.
- Peter Schoenecker (Pocklington): Moving effortlessly between reality and abstraction, Peter presents a diverse selection of work that leans heavily into the unique atmospheric moods of the local East Yorkshire landscape, by using colour.
