Back to Ours presents explosive Hull band LIFE, 8.30pm on Thursday 20th August
They’ve been busier than ever during lockdown, moving their programme – which normally takes place in different neighbourhoods across the city – online to keep connecting with, and talking to, audiences.
Now Back to Ours are joining forces with cult band LIFE to present an evening of experience and music.
Louise Yates, Back to Ours Director, says: “LIFE supported our first ever Back to Ours gig – Carl Barat at our 2017 Feb half-term festival – so it’s great to be working together again, this time on the virtual Back to Ours sofa.
“It’s not going to be your average show, so prepare yourself for an exciting, innovative experience with a red-hot band and snap those tickets up while you can.”
The Moon Room will be LIFE’s first live performance since returning from New York in March. Incorporating an interactive Q&A with the band as well as the world premiere of their community art piece Life Inside, it’s shaping up to be an intimate and explosive evening.
Their post-punk star has been steadily rising over the last couple of years: 2017 album Popular Music was championed by BBC 6Music’s Steve Lamacq and won firm fans (and friends) in fellow post-punkers Idles before storming the BBC Radio 1 Albums of The Year list.
Renowned for their electrifying live performances, they say: “We invite you to our factory. To our isolation bunker, our socially distanced wonderland. This is LIFE. This is LIVE like you’ve never seen us before. Watch us dance intimately in the palm of your hand. See us explode into your living room. Come join us. This is essential travel. This is The Moon Factory!”
Life Inside is a project pioneered and facilitated by the band, putting voices of young people at the forefront of the current global pandemic. The art piece will be incorporated within the live show.
Tickets priced £8, available from https://link.dice.fm/life-the-moon-factory
