Beloved Fruit Market restaurant Butler Whites reopens under new ownership and management

Butler Whites has officially reopened its doors in Hull’s Fruit Market, welcoming guests back. The beloved restaurant, now led by local owners, has already begun attracting diners with its refined approach to modern British cuisine, warm atmosphere and a renewed focus on exceptional hospitality.

The reopening marks a fresh chapter for the well-known establishment, offering an elegant yet relaxed dining experience designed for everything from special occasions and festive celebrations to cocktail evenings and casual catchups with friends.

A new chapter for a Hull favourite

“We’ve had so many guests tell us how much they’ve missed Butler Whites, and it’s been fantastic welcoming familiar faces back,” says Darren. “Our focus now is delivering the quality and consistency people remember.”

Lloyd adds: “Butler Whites was a much-loved part of Hull’s dining scene, and we want to build on that legacy. The goal is simple, great food, warm service and a place people want to return to.”

Festive Menu now available throughout December

To celebrate the season, Butler Whites has launched a three-course Festive Menu filled with winter flavours from warming starters to slow-cooked, richly flavoured mains and decadent desserts designed for lingering over. It’s perfect for Christmas celebrations, relaxed gatherings or elevating a special evening out.

Menu highlights include:

  • Gooey baked Camembert with truffle honey
  • Traditional roast turkey with cranberry & walnut stuffing
  • Slow-Braised Belly Pork served with black pudding mash
  • Warm chocolate brownie with toasted marshmallow & cherry compote

Early bookings are recommended as December dates are already filling fast.

Cocktails, catch-ups and celebrations

Beyond the kitchen, the bar team has refreshed the cocktail list with both classics and festive creations so whether guests are celebrating a birthday, enjoying after-work drinks or simply catching up with friends, Butler Whites offers an inviting space filled with warm lighting, buzzing atmosphere and a sense of occasion.

Sunday roasts already in high demand

In just two weeks, Butler Whites’ Sunday roasts have become a standout favourite  – featuring slow-cooked meats, crisp golden potatoes, towering Yorkshire puddings and rich gravy.

Booking information

Butler Whites is now open for lunch and dinner, Thursday-Sunday. Bookings are advisable but walk-ins are also welcome.
