Organised by Marketing Humber in partnership with leading employee engagement company H&H, Talent on the Move saw business leaders from across the region descend on the MKM Stadium on 6th June.

Attendees taking part in the interactive event learned about innovative solutions to upskilling dilemmas, changing employee expectations and talent acquisition and retention challenges.

Opening the event, Bill Walker, Marketing Humber Chair, said: “We are delighted to kick off Humber Business Week 2022 with an exciting launch event, delivered in partnership with award-winning East Yorkshire-based agency H&H.

The pandemic has changed how we do business, and where we do business – it’s a huge opportunity for entrepreneurship, and for innovative people to create the businesses of the future.”

Hannah Thoresby, Creative Director, H&H, said:

“The pandemic had fundamentally changed the working world and that is not going to go away. We need to adapt and work out what works today. But, as we all know, when we need to adapt quickly, we can.”

This event marked the launch of Humber Business week as Marketing Humber launched its latest Bondholder resource, Your Time.

Your Time, is a print and digital publication which showcases the career and lifestyle opportunities the Humber offers young people to attract and retain talent in our region.

Bill Walker said: “We are excited to launch our new recruitment guide Your Time, showcasing the career and lifestyle opportunities offered to young people by the Humber, in turn attracting and retaining talent with our unique regional offering.”

The University of Hull partnered with Marketing Humber as main sponsor of Your Time, and will use the publication extensively at student recruitment events.

Anja Hazebroek, Director of Student Recruitment and Marketing at the University of Hull, said that retaining and attracting young talent is ‘fundamental’ for the Humber region’s continued success.

She added: “We are proud that many of our students are from the region and that many more from across the country, and indeed the world, choose to study in Hull.

“We also know that a large proportion of our graduates go on the stay in the Humber region. As such, we are proud to support this fantastic publication, which details the rich and exciting lives and opportunities that young people have in our beautiful, vibrant region.”

The digital version of Your Time will be launched next month.

Marketing Humber’s next event as part of Humber Business Week is presented by the Young Talent Network: Making Good Connections for Career Success on 9th June at 2pm at Aura Innovation Centre.

This event will outline the benefits of building good connections both in person and online and why forming new and strengthening existing relationships will positively impact yourself and your career development.

This event is free for all young talent to attend and you can book here.
