The dinner, held on Wednesday 10th September at the Double Tree by Hilton in Hull, was organised by the Hull and East Riding Caravan Manufacturers’ Association (HERCMA) and raised an impressive £54,000 in support of The Daisy Appeal.

The Daisy Appeal, based at Castle Hill Hospital in Hull, funds cutting-edge medical research and equipment to improve early and accurate diagnosis of conditions including cancer, heart disease, and dementia. The £54,000 raised will go directly toward supporting the charity’s vital work in transforming patient care and outcomes across East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.
HERCMA is made up of ABI, Carnaby, Swift and Willerby and brings together leading figures from the caravan manufacturing sector. The evening was not only a celebration of the region’s caravan industry but also a testament to the community’s commitment to giving back.
The event featured games, a silent charity auction and dinner. Guests were entertained by The Pub Landlord; Al Murray, who got among the audience and proved extremely funny.
Chairman of HERCMA Peter Munk said: “We are incredibly proud to support such a meaningful cause. The Daisy Appeal’s impact on our local health services is remarkable, and the generosity shown by our sponsors and guests this year has been overwhelming. This donation reflects our industry’s commitment not just to economic growth, but to the wellbeing of our wider community.”
The Founder of the Daisy Appeal, Professor Nicholas Stafford, said: “We’re immensely grateful to HERCMA and everyone involved in the dinner for their generous support. This incredible donation will help us continue our mission to bring the best possible diagnostic imaging and research to our local hospitals. Partnerships like this are vital in driving our work forward in the region.”
HERCMA continues to champion charitable causes in the region and is committed to supporting initiatives that enhance the lives of local residents.
