The Hesslewood Charitable Causes Fund, founded by Brooklands Property Holdings, is committed to supporting local, grassroots charities and volunteer-led organisations. To date, the fund has helped raise over £200,000, making a tangible difference in local neighbourhoods through annual fundraising events and the generous support of local businesses and individuals.

This year’s beneficiary, Humber Rescue, is a completely volunteer-run, independent lifeboat charity established in 1989. Operating 365 days a year from their boathouse beneath the Humber Bridge, Humber Rescue provides rapid search and rescue operations across over 525 square kilometres of water, including the Humber Estuary and the Rivers Hull, Trent, and Ouse. As one of the UK’s busiest independent lifeboat stations, averaging 110 call-outs annually, their 35 dedicated volunteers are crucial for saving lives and safeguarding the waterways. Humber Rescue relies solely on public support to cover its annual running costs of approximately £100,000, including over £6,000 for fuel and over £15,000 for equipment servicing.

“We are incredibly proud to host the fifth annual ‘Classic Cars at Hesslewood’ and direct all proceeds to Humber Rescue,” said Debbie Barbor, one of the founders of Hesslewood Charitable Causes Fund. “Their volunteers provide an absolutely critical service to our community, operating in challenging conditions to save lives. We invite everyone to join us for what promises to be a fantastic day out, knowing that every penny raised will directly support Humber Rescue’s selfless work.”
