Cottingham Open Gardens celebrates its return

The gardeners of Cottingham are trimming their hedges and pruning their lawns for the return of Cottingham Open Gardens on Sunday 27th June.

The Open Gardens will run from 10am with almost 20 gardens opening their gates to the public in support of Dove House Hospice.

The event raises £12,000 annually for the hospice. The gardens promise something for everyone, with plenty of inspiration, beauty to be viewed and fun to be had! Each garden offers something different and it’s a fantastic opportunity for residents to show what the ‘largest village in England’ has to offer.

Entry programmes are priced at £4 per adult with accompanied under 16s being free. Programmes give entry to all of the gardens and each garden will have a variety of entertainment, music, afternoon teas, plants for sale and lots of other things taking place to help raise proceeds for the hospice.

Programmes are now on sale at the Dove House Hospice Charity Shop in the centre of Cottingham, The Duke of Cumberland, Barkers, and King William. Programmes can also be purchased from individual gardens on the day of the event.

Lists of the gardens will be displayed around Cottingham and the participating open gardens will be identifiable by balloons outside the houses.
