East Park to welcome 200 elves this weekend and you can still get involved

Local mental health charity Hull and East Yorkshire Mind is excited to welcome over 200 festive elves to East Park this weekend as its popular Mental Elf festive fun run returns to the city.

Now in its fourth year, Mental Elf brings families, friends, workplaces and supporters together for a morning of Christmas cheer – all while raising vital funds to support local mental health services.

With the countdown now on, the charity is encouraging anyone who hasn’t yet signed up to dust off their festive fancy dress and join in the fun. Whether you walk, jog, dash or dance around the route, everyone is welcome – including children, families, teams, and even four-legged friends.

Jack Moore, Head of Marketing & External Relations at Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, said: “Mental Elf is more than just a run – it’s a reminder that looking after our mental health should never be something we do alone. At this time of year, when life can feel overwhelming for many, bringing people together to laugh, move, connect and support one another is incredibly powerful.

“Every elf taking part is helping to shine a light on mental health, reduce stigma, and raise funds that directly support local people who may be struggling. There’s still time to join us, and we’d love to see even more people come along – whether you run, walk or cheer from the sidelines. When we show up for each other, we show what community really means.”

This year’s event includes music, coffee and pizza, and a festive costume competition to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.

There’s still time to register, with tickets available online until the event, and limited sign-ups accepted on the day.

The event is proudly sponsored once again by Tigers Events at the MKM Stadium.
