East Yorkshire, the Hull-based bus company, is celebrating Catch The Bus Week (1-7 July) with the launch of a competition to win a family summer survival package.

The contest, which can be entered via the company’s social media channels, gives families the chance to win a superb prize package, which includes free family travel on East Yorkshire local buses all summer, free travel on the company’s Beachcomber open top buses and Moors Explorer tourist services, four places on an East Yorkshire Coaches day trip, a family ticket for Hull tourist attraction Dinostar and Scarborough’s SeaLife, and a pair of tickets to the fantastic music festival Humber Street Sesh.

East Yorkshire Managing Director Martijn Gilbert said that Catch The Bus Week was an ideal time for people to try using the bus.  “As the weather gets warmer and people start to think about getting out to explore our region, the bus is an ideal option,” he said.  “Not only do you not have to worry about trying to find a parking space in a packed car park or have the hassle of fighting through traffic, but you’ll also have the reassurance that you’re using public transport and not making an unnecessary extra car journey, and therefore helping the environment and the air quality of our towns and cities too.”

Catch The Bus Week is a nationwide campaign aimed at driving awareness of the benefits of taking the bus.  Now in its fifth year, it’s all about encouraging people to leave their cars at home and discover for themselves how convenient, comfortable and enjoyable travelling by bus can be.

Find out more about the benefits of bus travel, and enter the summer competition, by searching EY Buses on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, or visiting www.eastyorkshirebuses.co.uk.
