Education charity makes waves with launch of new SEND workshop

Award-winning education and conservation charity, The Deep, is inviting learners to dive into their exciting new workshop ‘A World of Wonder’ – now available for groups to book.

‘A World of Wonder’ joins The Deep’s extensive line-up of engaging and interactive educational sessions and sits alongside the sensory workshop, ‘A Sense of Adventure’, as sessions specifically designed for SEND learners.

This multi-activity bespoke session provides learners the opportunity to engage with a range of artefacts and free-choice activities related to ocean animals and habitats, with a focus on communication and enquiry skills. In addition, the workshop supports learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including those with PMLD and complex needs.

‘A World of Wonder’ aims to support development towards individual targets in a range of areas, including explorative creative thinking, independence, memory and concentration, as well as develop confidence in new environments. The workshop also acknowledges the UN’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development 14 & 15.

The Deep’s Education Team said: “After months of refinement, the team are pleased to now be launching ‘A World of Wonder’ to join the exciting choices of workshops available.

“As an education charity, we are fortunate to welcome a diverse range of learners through the doors from Early Years to Post-16, all eager to discover more about our ocean.

“Through our teams’ continuous evolvement and development of sessions, this enables us to ensure The Deep reaches a wide range of new audiences to explore and be inspired by the marine world.”
