Good Friday brings a full day of family activities to Burton Constable Hall

Burton Constable Hall will celebrate Easter 2026 from 28th March to 12th April, with Good Friday, 3rd April as the centrepiece – a full day of live entertainment, outdoor activity and family-friendly experiences set within the historic house and its surrounding parkland.

The highlight of the day is Rusticus Adventure: The Search for the Golden Fleece, an energetic outdoor theatre performance combining myth, comedy and audience participation. Audiences will follow two delightfully chaotic sheep on a quest inspired by classical legend, brought to life through lively storytelling and interactive moments. With three performances scheduled across the day, advance booking is essential.

Alongside the performance, visitors can take part in archery sessions hosted by the Burton Constable Company of Bowmen. These sessions offer a hands-on introduction to traditional archery skills, with expert guidance available throughout, making them suitable for beginners as well as those looking to refine their aim (additional cost applies).

Younger visitors can enjoy Easter storytelling sessions in the Wild Haven, designed specifically for children under six. These sessions provide a more relaxed, immersive experience before the day continues with the Easter Bonnet Competition, held outside the Hall. Families are invited to bring along handmade bonnets, with prizes awarded for the most colourful and creative designs.

Throughout the wider Easter period, visitors can also enjoy themed indoor and outdoor trails, exploring both the historic interiors of the Hall and its surrounding grounds. Participants who complete a trail will receive a small reward.

Easter Activity Packs, available from the admission desk for £3, offer an additional way for children to engage with the site.
