Leading seating expert, Channel Healthcare, based in East Yorkshire, has launched a brand new specialist chair; the Tri-Chair 7, inspired by rugby league legend, the late Rob Burrow CBE.

The Goole-based business, which specialises in made-to-measure, bespoke seating, has created its new Tri-Chair 7 to give clients exceptional durability, adaptability and effortless manoeuvrability. It is designed for those who require a higher-degree of postural support, with complex sitting postures and high-level pressure care management, and can easily be adapted.
Shaun McCluskey, Managing Director at Channel Healthcare said: “We are really proud of the Tri-7. We know this will make a huge difference to people’s lives, allowing them to experience the support, comfort and flexibility they need.”
Channel Healthcare’s latest specialist chair is for semi-mobile and non-mobile users – those who need support when walking and for those unable to walk independently.
Channel Healthcare supported rugby league legend Rob Burrow CBE in 2023 with a specialist chair (the Tri-Chair 3) that would not only support his progressing needs, but wouldn’t turn his home into a healthcare setting. This latest product, the Tri-Chair 7, further progresses the business’s offering, with a nod to Rob by using his shirt number 7 in the name of this latest product.
Rob was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a degenerative neurological condition affecting movement, speech and muscular control. Rob Burrow sadly passed away on 2 June 2024, four and a half years after his MND diagnosis.
To help further support people with this life altering illness, Channel Healthcare will be donating £50 for every chair sold to the MND Association, helping to raise funds for understanding and supporting patients and families dealing with this life altering condition.
Shaun said: “It was a privilege to support Rob and his family and we are proud to now offer a new product which is inspired by him.”
The Tri-Chair 7 is suitable for individuals with different conditions including Motor Neurone Disease (MND), stroke/acquired brain injury, complex postural needs, dementia/Alzheimers disease, spinal cord injury or paraplegia and bariatric needs.
Shaun added: “We are dedicated to finding the right solutions for every user and we believe this chair will help us to deliver an even better service. We hope we can now support even more people across the country.”
