Registration is now open for Dove House Hospice’s Make a Will Fortnight, which runs from 10-21 October 2022. Now entering its 11th year, the appeal is helping to raise vital funds for Dove House Hospice.
There are so many life events that may prompt you to make a will, from becoming a grandparent to buying a new home, getting married, or getting diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. Whatever the reason, writing a will gives you the power to decide how your assets are dealt with after your death and is an invaluable tool to help protect your family’s future. Make a Will Fortnight makes it an easy process and gives that feel-good factor of knowing you are supporting hospice care in your local community.
Speaking about Make a Will Fortnight, Dove House Hospice Regional Fundraiser, Jethro Shearring said:
“Over the last decade, Make a Will Fortnight has played a crucial role in helping to make a truly special difference to patients and their loved ones across Hull and East Yorkshire accessing specialist care. The aim of Make a Will Fortnight is to encourage as many people as possible to be prepared for whatever the future holds by writing a will and in the process making an invaluable contribution to Dove House.
“As in previous years, we are completely indebted to the generosity of a number of local organisations across the area, who are kindly donating their time to take on will appointments. The premise of the appeal is simple. Once you have received an information pack, you need to book directly with your chosen organisation, and instead of paying them, we ask that you kindly leave a donation in line with their fees.”
“At a time in which the hospice continues to face the challenges of the pandemic, as well as rising costs, appeals like this are more important than ever in ensuring that our specialist care can continue to be available to those who need it most.”
