Hornsea Ladies Hockey Club is looking for corporate sponsorship

Hornsea Ladies Hockey Club is a small but enthusiastic team of hockey players, consisting of one Ladies team ranging from 13yrs up to 50yrs.

“We are a team of mixed generations with mothers and daughters playing alongside each other,” says Jemma Brown. “The club has been in existence for 45 years and is now based at Hull University on Inglemire Lane. We are an affiliated club of the England Hockey Association.

“We have over 25 ladies registered with the club, which has increased in the last few months as other clubs have folded due to the pandemic. A large percentage of our team are key workers, including nurses, midwifes, care home staff, teachers, early years practitioners, frontline retail workers, police and vets just to name a few, who have worked tirelessly through the Covid-19 pandemic.

“As a result of the pandemic, we have had to find alternative venues for training and matches when government guidelines have allowed us to play.

“Playing Hockey has a proven benefit to the mental health and wellbeing of all of the ladies on our team. We are extremely happy that the 21/22 season has just begun. We are now looking for a local business to sponsor our new kit.”

If you’re interested in sponsoring Hornsea Ladies Hockey Club through a business, Jemma has provided some extra information:

“We realised that after the last 18 months, asking businesses for £700 for sponsorship was a big ask. So instead, we are holding a raffle. Tickets are £20 each and businesses may purchase as many as they like. We will hold the draw on 5th November. The business name pulled out of the draw on that date will be our main short sponsor. If you would like to buy a ticket, or know of a business that would, please get in touch.

You can get in touch with Hornsea Ladies Hockey Club and buy tickets to the raffle through their Facebook page.
