Hull babies go for gold with Olympic legacy fun

It’s been 10 years since the London Olympics and its legacy is still being seen up and down the country including right here in Hull, with Becky Adlington’s BabyStars.

In order to celebrate the ten years since the London 2012 Olympic Games, the parents and tots at Becky Adlington BabyStars Hull donned replica medals and even blow-up trophies to celebrate the achievements of British athletes, including company founder Becky Adlington who won four Olympic medals during her career.

The BabyStars classes run a different theme every week in a storytelling format, and what better story to tell than the success of swimmers like Becky Adlington who kicked off her love of water at a very young age.

Whilst babies won’t be working on their backstrokes, introducing little ones to the water as soon as possible helps build confidence when they do learn to swim.

Additionally, baby swim is a fantastic bonding experience for both parent and baby, as well as helping babies to develop their motor skills as they make shapes in the water.

Becky Adlington said: “As a mum, I know we want to make sure our little ones are getting the very best start from day one. Introducing them to water as soon as possible is a brilliant way to encourage their development and make some brilliant memories.

“As it has been ten years since the London 2012 Olympics, we wanted to inspire the next generation of potential swimmers. The podium and even a gold medal is not out of reach to the babies of Hull, thanks to their access to a good quality swimming pool and the very best teachers.”

The centre in Hull is located in Total Fitness in Willerby just off the A164 and offers a variety of classes, not just for babies but for children up to the age of 12, meaning more children in Hull and the surrounding areas can access a quality swimming pool.
