The Group beat strong competition with a record number of 186 businesses entering the awards from across the Yorkshire and Humberside region.

Family Business Awards Co-Founder and Director, Sue Howorth, said: “We were inundated with some incredible entries, and we have been burning the midnight oil to get through them as they came in right up to the wire. The judges had extremely difficult decisions to make, so the finalists should be extremely proud of themselves!”

This first-class celebration event will be held at the Headingley Stadium, Leeds with co-host, food writer and presenter Nigel Barden, and will take place on Friday 11 November 2022.

Adam Walsh, Group CEO, said: “We’re delighted to be finalists for three categories this year. I’m especially thrilled to see Darren make it to the finalists for Employee of the Year. The whole team finds him a pleasure to work with, and I firmly believe he will grow with and continue to be a pivotal part of the John Good Group’s success.”

Employee of the Year Finalist Darren Howden has gone above and beyond for the group and its employees over the past 12 months, providing a streamlined transition into their new building at Hesslewood Office Park. Darren said: “It’s a lovely gesture to be nominated for Employee of the Year, and it feels great to be recognised within the region.”

The finalists will receive a visit from the specially selected panel of expert judges before the final decisions are made. The winners will be announced at the awards celebration on Friday 11 November.

Dave Clarkson, Co-Founder and Director of the Family Business Awards, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to fill out an application form and enter. We’ve been absolutely blown away by the strength and diversity of applications from across the region.”
