Stagecoach, the parent of major local bus operator, Stagecoach East Midlands, has supported a local community organisation, in Hull, as part of a scheme that has seen it announce a total of £4,500 in community grants distributed to nine organisations across the UK.

Each of the organisations has received a £500 grant to support their valuable local work.
In our region, Stagecoach has backed Victoria Dock Village Hall (VDVH), an organisation that provides a community space for a variety of local groups, and which organises community events. The grant will be used to host a bi-annual family fun day, bringing together a diverse mix of community members.
For over 25 years, VDVH has celebrated the start of summer with an annual Fun Day. On the first Saturday of July, the park is taken over by rides, stalls, and food and drink vendors, as the community come together to have some fun.
Stagecoach’s grants are awarded, via the Neighbourly community giving platform, to organisations located within the bus operator’s service areas, which align with the company’s values of supporting communities.
Matt Cranwell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “We are so proud to support organisations that are making a real, tangible difference to people’s lives. Giving back to the communities we serve is at the heart of what we do, and it is inspiring to see the incredible work that is being done by VDVH in Hull.
“We look forward to seeing the positive impact of this grant, and continuing to support local causes which align with our mission to create more inclusive and sustainable communities.”
