Hull residential property developer wins national accolade

Hull-based firm is crowned Residential Developer of the Year at the National Building and Construction Awards.

The Host of the NBCA James Green, Sarah Gill Finance Director and Jason Coleman Managing Director both of Iguana Developments and Andy Lister from Senior Architectural Systems.

Iguana Developments received their award at the National Building and Construction Awards which took place at London Hilton Wembley, on 18 November.

During the proceedings businesses were recognised for their outstanding industrious, hardworking and enterprising efforts within the building and construction industry across the UK.

Jason Coleman, Managing Director of Iguana Developments says:

“We are delighted to have received this national accolade. Over the last four years we have delivered 164 apartments across 3 developments in Hull City Centre and the Old Town. We always wanted to bring something special to Hull and further inspired by UK City of Culture.

“As we approach full occupancy at our third and final development, The Glass House in Queen’s Gardens, this national award reinforces the fact that Hull does deserve the best.

“The quality of our developments and positive approach to Hull made us stand out to the judges. “The awards included two winners from Hull; us and Alessandro Caruso for the design of the Alam Diabetes Centre at Hull Royal Infirmary. I feel this is a fantastic opportunity for our city to shine and I am proud of the amazing projects that are happening here right now.”

The judges praised all entrants for their hard work and positive attitude during a year that has seen huge challenges for all, especially those working within the construction industry, tackling obstacles caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Project delays have across the country have been due to new health and safety measures, supply chain issues and planning and inspections. However, the businesses celebrated at these awards continued to strive and thrive.

“The National Building and Construction Awards are made up of 19 categories that allowed any successful business in the UK to enter the prestigious awards. All entries were judged by a national panel of judges. We congratulate Iguana Developments for a well-deserved win as residential developer of the year.”

Iguana has converted commercial office buildings into apartments; Essex House on Manor Street, Liberty House on Liberty Lane and The Glass House in Queen’s Gardens. The apartments have been popular with owner occupiers, as well as renters and a small number of investors.
