Hull is making a statement on the northern business map. More than 40 businesses came together at Flexworks last week for an afternoon of networking, idea-sharing, and collaboration.

The event, hosted in the newly renovated Broadway House, drew in a wide range of professionals from local entrepreneurs and start-ups to established firms and national organisations. The mix of attendees created a lively atmosphere where connections were made and new partnerships sparked.
Hull has often been seen as trailing behind Leeds and Manchester in business networking. Yet this event, with its impressive turnout and strong line-up of speakers, alongside other local initiatives, challenges that perception.
“Events like this show the strength and ambition of Hull’s business community,” said Maria Hatton from Hattons Creative Consultancy. “It’s clear there’s a real appetite for growth and collaboration here.”
Flexworks itself provided a striking backdrop. The space is housed in Broadway House, a building with a colourful past — once operating as a hotel that famously hosted Chuck Berry. Today, it has been transformed into a premium workspace, blending Hull’s heritage with modern business ambition.
