Pioneering open access operator Hull Trains supported fans heading to Wembley in London for the England vs Australia Rugby League Ashes Series opener.

Saturday’s busy 08:35 service from Hull saw a range of recent competition winners from Hull Trains ongoing partnership with Hull KR and Rugby League Commercial enjoy a first-class experience on the journey down to King’s Cross.
The service, dubbed the ‘Ashes Train’, also carried regular Hull and Humberside Rugby League fans all ready to support the first head-to-head between the rival nations in a three test match series since 2003.
Holiday-makers heading away for the start of the half-term holidays, using the reliable London bound service, also helped ensure it was a busy start to Saturday for Hull Trains onboard colleagues and loyal customers alike.
Lou Mendham, Service Delivery Director, Hull Trains, said: “It’s really exciting to have the Ashes back in the UK. We’re delighted to support our competition winners from our partnership with Hull KR and Rugby League Commercial, as well as all of the other local Rugby fans heading down and people setting off for half-term breaks. This is what Hull Trains is all about, connecting people and places.”
Joe Steel, Director of Marketing and Communications at RL Commercial, said: “We’re really grateful to Hull Trains for their fantastic support around the Rugby League Ashes Test at Wembley. Making it easier for fans to travel and be part of this historic occasion helps us grow the game and create an unforgettable experience for everyone heading to the capital.”
