The achievement marks years of collective fundraising by colleagues across the Hull-based business and sister companies within Groupe Atlantic in the UK.

Since the start of its partnership with the charity in 2018, colleagues have raised vital funds for Macmillan through sponsored challenges, bake sales and other events.

To recognise the milestone, Ideal Heating welcomed Macmillan’s Relationship Fundraising Manager, Laura Holohan-Keith, to its headquarters in National Avenue, Hull, where she presented a framed certificate acknowledging the team’s dedication and generosity.

Laura said: “We cannot thank everyone at Ideal Heating enough for their absolutely amazing support since 2018.

“Right now, more than three million people are living with cancer in the UK and, with someone diagnosed with cancer every 90 seconds, Macmillan has never been needed more.

“We’re here to ensure everyone living with cancer has access to the support they need, from our Macmillan Information Centres to our Support Line and our professionals offering specialist care. We can only continue this vital work with support from incredible partners like Ideal Heating.”

Alongside its support for Macmillan, as the company’s chosen corporate charity, Ideal Heating employees have continued to raise funds for a broader range of local and national good causes.

Through monthly “Casual Fridays”, the company’s regular dress-down day, employees contribute around £900 each month to charities nominated by colleagues.

Additional fundraising activities throughout the year have supported initiatives such as BBC Children in Need and Doorstep Elves, an initiative run by Hull and East Yorkshire (HEY) Children’s University.

In November, colleagues raised over £1,800 for BBC Children in Need, with members of the team dressing up as characters from the Wizard of Oz as part of the fundraising effort.

Colleagues have also contributed to the Macmillan total through a staff boiler purchase scheme, where team members can buy Ideal Heating products at a discounted rate, with the difference donated directly to the charity.

Ideal Heating became a Bronze Partner of Hull and East Yorkshire (HEY) Children’s University this year, following a successful fundraising effort by four of the company’s engineering apprentices. The partnership has already seen pupils visit Ideal’s Hull headquarters for factory tours and workshops, with future experiences planned to help inspire and engage local schoolchildren.

In February 2026, Ideal will support HEY Children’s University with a trawling experience for pupils from Griffin Primary School. The day will give children the opportunity to learn about Hull’s maritime heritage by exploring the city’s trawling history, interviewing members of the public, and taking part in a maritime-themed walking tour.

Miriam Moore, HR Director (Designate) at Ideal Heating, said: “Reaching this £300,000 milestone is a fantastic achievement and a real reflection of the generosity and community spirit within our business.

“We’re proud to support causes that make a huge difference, both locally and nationally, to peoples’ lives, and I want to thank every colleague who has taken part in fundraising or volunteering.”
