Introducing CATCH Apprenticeships – Your route to success

Award-winning skills provider CATCH have announced that they are set to boost the prospects of young people across the Yorkshire and Humber region by offering a suite of apprenticeship standards under their new brand CATCH Apprenticeships.

This exciting development will see CATCH deliver four apprenticeship standards, Science Manufacturing Technician (Process Operations), Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician (Electrical & Instrumentation and Mechanical),  Plate Welder and Pipe Welder. All CATCH apprenticeships will include a large amount of practical experience utilising the fully operational process plant facility and engineering workshops at the National Centre for Process Manufacturing (NCPM). The Science Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship is also delivered at the Process Manufacturing Centre (PMC) in West Yorkshire.

In September 2021 CATCH enrolled their first cohort of 10 apprentices in West Yorkshire and are actively recruiting across the Yorkshire and Humber region for candidates ready to commence their career in September 2022. Applications to become a CATCH apprentice are now open and you can apply directly on the CATCH website.

Local renowned employer Syngenta are one of the inaugural companies that selected CATCH Apprenticeships as their provider to deliver the Science Manufacturing Technician standard in West Yorkshire. Training and Apprenticeship Manager Nikita Seabright said:

“Syngenta’s relationship with CATCH has been ongoing over the years in which they have supported and delivered our Work Preparedness Programme to all of our new Apprentices as part of their Induction to our organisation. Their knowledge and expertise of training delivery and apprenticeships is exceptional and we are thrilled to join them in this establishment of Apprenticeship Delivery.

Initial delivery of training has been of a high standard with commendable organisation, planning, communication and training delivery. We have visibility of our Apprentices progression throughout their training and share the same passion with the tutors and programme leaders to develop all learners to the best of their ability which will be invaluable to our organisation and industry.”

James McIntosh, Chief Operating Officer of CATCH, added:

“I am delighted to be able to formally launch the CATCH Apprenticeship brand. Becoming an apprenticeship provider is the next evolution of CATCH and builds on the previous 5 years of CATCH Skills delivering high quality employer led training and the extensive experience over the past 20 years of us working with our members closely with their skills, competency & apprenticeship solutions. Feedback has been excellent from employers and learners so far and we look forward to working with all stakeholders as we develop our programme for a September 2022 intake.”

CATCH invites employers to attend an informal breakfast meeting on Monday 13th December at 8.30am at CATCH, Stallingborough. This meeting will provide attendees with an introduction to the CATCH Apprenticeship programme including the recruitment process.
