Jigsaw giant chooses Hull agency to piece together global digital marketing campaign

A giant of the global jigsaw sector has chosen a digital marketing specialist in Hull to piece together a campaign aimed at giving the company the edge over international competitors.

The Germany-based Ravensburger Group, which earlier this year reported turnover of 790-million Euros, has appointed 43 Clicks North to help build market share in the UK, United States, Germany and France. At the heart of the move is a plan to expand the direct-to-consumer side of a company which dates back to 1883.

Mike Ellis, Founder of 43 Clicks North, said: “We are working with a client that is in every one of my friends’ houses! They are already a massive brand who compete with other giants of the toys industry and our job is establish brand awareness and make them even more of a household name.”

Ravensburger is recognised as one of the leading European brands for games, puzzles, arts and crafts, with its trademark blue triangle standing out on shelves in such major retailers as Hamleys, Hobbycraft, Smyths Toys Superstores and The Works.

Marisa Crimlis-Brown, Senior Client Manager at 43 Clicks North, said: “Their products carry the names of Disney, Peppa Pig, Gravitax, Disney Lorcana and more – huge brands and quality products which are entertaining and educational. All the things that your children love, they have on a puzzle.”

The team at 43 Clicks North raided their toy boxes at home to assemble their own Ravensburger collection in the office, with pride of place going to a my Ravensburger personalised, 1,000-piece puzzle showing a map of Hull.

43 Clicks North started working with Ravensburger earlier this year on paid media services in the UK. The success of that project brought the addition of search engine optimisation services in the UK, United States, Germany and France.

But Mike revealed that the first pieces of the deal were in place more than five years ago after a successful project for another client with a key contact who subsequently moved to Ravensburger.

Mike said: “Our contact sees us as people he can trust from his experience of having worked with us before. He was a happy client who moved to another business and is now looking for the same level of service that we provided last time.

“That relationship with our contact is particularly important to us. e has come back to us with a newHe has come back to us because we have been there, done it and proved it. As a result they have belief and trust in us to do it again for their global brand.”
