Joshua James partners with body confidence advocate to create exclusive jewellery designs

Joshua James Jewellery, the leading stockist of designer jewellery brands, launches exclusive engraved designs after partnering up with Jessica Megan, an award-winning advocate for body confidence in the hopes to fundraise for the charity Beat.

The range consists of Joshua James’ brand new classic disc pendants and bracelets that have been engraved with two inspiring quotes on one side and two female figure line drawings on the other, both designed by Jess herself.

Beat, a cause personally chosen by Jess, is an organisation that supports individuals that have suffered or are suffering from an eating disorder. Founded in 1989, the charity endeavours to empower and encourage people to seek help for a greater chance of recovery. They listen, interpret and give guidance on eating disorders, as well as assist loved ones in understanding them. And 20% of all proceeds from the Body Confidence collection will be donated directly to the charity to support them in this mission.

As a role model for women with over 500K followers on Instagram, Jess uses her platforms to educate and capitalise on body confidence, often using her writing as a chance to speak for women who haven’t yet taken proprietorship of their bodies.

Jess said: “Diet culture has us longing for the future when we are thinner and anti-wrinkle creams have us longing for the past when we were younger.

“But you will never ever ever get to be the person you are right now in this moment. Every second that goes by you is changing.

“Before I know it, this body will have become frail and my bones will ache and my eyes will tire. So let me be here, let me love it here, stop trying to send me to a different place and promise me that there is a time where I’ll be happier just so long as I adhere to an abstract standard. I’ve been there before. I was younger before. I was thinner before. I was still chaotic, and confused, and longed for a different time. And there will come a time where I long for right now. So let me slow down and hold myself, and watch the sun set.”

With 12 pieces to be chosen from, the brand has ensured that customers and beyond can enjoy their new standards of fairmined 18ct Yellow Gold Vermeil and 18ct Rose Gold Vermeil plating next to the classic 925 Sterling Silver pieces. The first design concept consists of a full body line drawing with ‘Stop sucking it in’ on the opposing side. The second holds a motif of a female bum with the quote ‘You’re a peach’.

Jess famously uses both quotes to encourage her online community to defy change and instead embrace the vessel they were born with. Jess consistently reflects on why women should be grateful for all their bodies do for them instead of scrutinising the appearance against unrealistic social standards.

Since launching their Signature Collection, which initially held these engravable pieces, Joshua James wanted to identify an area that their mostly female-led marketing team feels passionate about and support this movement through an exclusive jewellery collection.
