Law firm combines AI with employment lawyers to modernise HR advice for businesses

Leading regional law firm Wilkin Chapman Rollits has launched a new HR platform combining artificial intelligence (AI) with advice from the firm’s specialist employment lawyers.

Adaptive HR is one of the first employment law and HR platforms in the UK to offer AI case management with solicitor advice and validation, as well as insurance-backed protection, in a single service.

Wilkin Chapman Rollits says this hybrid model gives businesses reliable HR support around the clock, while also ensuring employers have access to tailored legal advice when they need it.

Oliver Tasker, partner and head of the firm’s employment law team, said Adaptive HR was developed in response to increasing pressure on employers to address HR issues quickly and correctly.

“We often hear from employers who are managing complex HR situations with limited time and resources,” he said. “Adaptive HR allows us to provide expert-led HR and legal guidance around the clock, while ensuring clients can still access advice from our employment lawyers when they need it, so they do not lose that human and client-focused touch.

“Clients have the full reassurance that every step is validated by an employment law solicitor, giving businesses confidence that they are following the correct process”.

Adaptive HR provides a structured, AI-powered case management system, giving step-by-step guidance through common HR issues and processes such as disciplinaries, grievances and absence management, supporting legal compliance through automated audit trails and document templates.

The platform generates a case summary, which is then reviewed by a solicitor to ensure it is legally compliant before the employer takes any action. Employers can access the Adaptive HR platform 24/7, with solicitor input provided during business hours.

Businesses can also opt to take optional insurance cover that will cover legal costs in defending any Employment Tribunal claim from the point of ACAS Early Conciliation onwards.

The launch comes as the legal industry continues to adopt new technology, including the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s recent approval of the UK’s first AI-only law firm. Wilkin Chapman Rollits says its focus is on using AI responsibly to support human expertise, not replace it.

Oliver said: “AI is increasingly being used across the legal sector for things like streamlining casework. We’ve developed this platform with employers in mind, using AI responsibly and prioritising transparency, data privacy and clear human oversight.

“We wanted to create a platform that complements the expertise of our employment lawyers to support employers’ decision-making, on demand when required.”

With more than 520 partners and staff located in Grimsby, Lincoln, Louth, Hull, York and Beverley, Wilkin Chapman Rollits is the largest law firm operating out of both Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
