Local NHS Trust reaches top spot for Trusts in England

The National Oversight Framework results are produced by NHS England to provide a national view of how Trusts are performing across a range of measures.

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust has now risen to segment one, the highest segment, and is now in 7th place in the league for Mental Health and Community Trusts. This also places the Trust as the highest rated across the Humber and North Yorkshire region.

Trusts are segmented into one of four performance levels, with one being the highest and four being the lowest. Being in segment one is more than just a national rating, it gives Trusts greater independence in planning and delivering their services. It also places those Trusts in a strong position for any future national opportunities.

Strong performance in this national ranking demonstrates the Trust is delivering outstanding, reliable and sustainable patient care to the local community. Some of the key highlights show how the Trust’s performance has improved. The National Oversight Framework identified that the Trust no longer has anyone on a community waitlist over 52 weeks, this is also reflected in Adult Acute Mental Health units within which the Trust has the lowest percentage of patients staying more than 60 days.

Trusts within segment one rating are considered ‘High Performing’ and afforded more autonomy to manage their services having been able to evidence strong leadership and running of their organisations.

Michele Moran, Chief Executive at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, “These results are hugely encouraging, and we are delighted to be in the highest possible segment nationally. This recognition of our staff and services is well deserved and we acknowledge the contribution of every team and staff member. Whilst the results can only ever capture part of the picture, we are committed to build on this progress and continue to provide the highest quality, safe care for our patients and communities.”

The results of the National Oversight Framework are released every three months and are available for public to view.
