Calling young wizards, witches, muggles and students of Hogwarts! It’s going to be a slightly different experience this year, but Hull Libraries still has a magical night planned for you at its annual Harry Potter night which takes place tomorrow (Thursday 4 February 2021).
The Hull Libraries team has been working hard to bring the magic of Harry Potter night direct to your home, with events taking place from 4pm – 8pm. This year, all of the events will take place online – and they’re all free!
Most events will be delivered via Zoom and are suitable for families and children aged eight years and over however, there’s also lots of activities to keep little ones happy too. Simply register for the events you want to take part in via the Hull Libraries EventBrite page.
Meet magical creatures around the world with Sam’s Safari, let your creativity run wild, with a live drawing tutorial with Calvin Innes and learn all sorts of tips and tricks from a professional artist.
Marjorie Brabazon, Chair of Hull Culture and Leisure, said “We know how everyone loves our Harry Potter Night and wanted to make sure families can be Involved but in a different way.”
Katie Holdstock, Events and Promotions Manager at Hull Libraries, explained: “Get your cloaks on and join us for some very special guests for an enchanting evening of storytelling, crafting, potion making and a whole host of magical mayhem celebrating.
“While we’re disappointed that we can’t gather together in person, we’re excited to bring a flavour of Hogwarts to your home this February. Our Harry Potter Quiz will go live on YouTube at 4pm and we’ll also be publishing a link to take part in a special Escape Rooms – Escape the Evil Wizard’s Lair. What starts as a relaxing afternoon in the school library quickly turns into a nightmare. Complete puzzles in order to escape the lair before you get yourself killed- or worse, expelled!”
Check out the full programme and reserve a free spot by visiting the Hull Libraries EventBrite page.
