Make It Count at Louth Riverside Theatre

What if you died… and got one chance to win the love of your life all over again?

Make It Count is a new award-winning studio-scale three-hander from writer James Sweeney: an existential comedy-drama about love, control and second chances.

When Jonas dies unexpectedly, an afterlife error gives him the chance to relive the last sixteen years of his life with his wife, Lily — while she remembers none of it.

Armed with knowledge of the future, he sets out to perfect their life together, only to discover that every attempt to control it drives them further apart. Guided by the Grim Reaper’s well-meaning but inexperienced stand-in, Jonas is forced to confront the consequences of his choices.

Make It Count explores free will, hindsight and the dangerous temptation to rewrite a life already lived — and the cost of trying to do so. Told with intimacy, wit and emotional precision, the play asks: could you survive reliving your marriage?
