Perennially popular Pub to Pub Walk returns in summer to benefit local good causes

The much-loved Pub to Pub Walk, hosted by Dove House Hospice will once again return to the local area on Saturday 6th June, aiming to raise awareness and proceeds for the hospice and other local causes across Hull and East Yorkshire.

Starting at the Wetherspoon Sanctuary Bar at Hull University Students’ Union, based within the University of Hull, the walk encourages supporters to dig out their walking boots and join the hospice to enjoy a challenging point to point route of just over 11 miles.

The route takes in areas of East Yorkshire’s beautiful country, historic villages including Cottingham and Skidby, urban areas and rural heritage stops, giving walkers chance to stop off for a well-deserved pint in six pubs along the way. Refreshment stops included are: Wetherspoons at Sanctuary Bar, Goodfellowship Inn, Cross Keys in Cottingham, Skidby Lakes Golf Club, the Half Moon and the Duke of Cumberland.

Dan Clipson, Senior Fundraiser at Dove House Hospice said, “We are blown away by the continued success of our Pub to Pub Walk. The event is fantastic fun for everyone involved and has become a social staple in the calendar for many of our supporters. We have some great pubs on board to help make our walkers’ experience memorable and the route is challenging but achievable for both experienced walkers and amateurs alike”.

Registration for the walk costs £20, with walkers being asked to raise at least £30 in sponsor money for their chosen causes. Each walker will also receive a limited-edition Pub to Pub Walk t-shirt and goodie bag. Participating charities include Dove House Hospice, RSCPA Hull & East Riding, fitmums and friends, Hull University Students’ Athletic Union, Special Stars Foundation, Age UK Hull & East Yorkshire and Hull Women’s Aid.
