Perfect Combination IV is shortly to be celebrated by two fund-raising gigs for the Stephen Hughes Foundation, to showcase Hull’s musical heritage and beyond. These are set to take place on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th February with shows in the evening and afternoon. The evening show on the 7th will be at the Willows Club, Hull and the afternoon show at the Back Room in Cottingham on the 8th.
The acts taking part in the evening ‘Let’s Get Back To Rock n Roll’ show at Willows Club are Johnny Pat and the Dream Team, Rebel, The Duvets, Loudhailer Electric Company, Ched’s Bare Bones and Jackson D. In addition, there will be a special finale tribute to East Hull starman Mick Ronson by the musical director of Turn & Face the Strange Keith ‘Ched’ Cheeseman & friends. There is ample parking at the club.
The acts taking part in the afternoon ‘Acoustic East Coast Shakedown’ show at The Back Room are MG Greaves, One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer, Urban Rain, Work in Progress and The Arkut Brothers.
The event will raise funds for The Stephen Hughes Foundation, set up by Stephen’s friends and parents, Gary and Hazel Hughes. Stephen, a Hull born school teacher and keen sportsman died at the age of 23 of the heart disease Giant Cell Myocarditis. All funds raised from the event will go towards the main purpose of the Foundation of ‘Saving Young Hearts’ through research into a diagnosis and treatment Myocarditis. In addition, the Charity supports the greater provision of opportunities for participation in sport and music in local primary schools and community groups, through their Development Grants.
Hazel said ‘We are delighted that so many talented local musicians are once again giving their time to put on a really enjoyable show in support of our charity – The Stephen Hughes Foundation. Stephen loved live music and going to gigs, both large and small. It is a great privilege and honour that his memory lives on through an event of this nature’.

The music an offer goes from the 1950’s rock n roll of Johnny Pat & The Dream Team to the contemporary sounds of Urban Rain – there really is something for everyone!”
