Pocklington Arts Centre’s Comedy Festival returns in 2026

Pocklington Arts Centre’s Comedy Festival will return for a second year on Saturday 30th May, building on the success of its inaugural event in 2025.

The full-day festival features a diverse line-up of top comedians from across the comedy circuit, with performances for all ages. From emerging stars to well-known faces, the impressive programme includes everything from family shows to a star-studded mixed-bill finale.

Last year’s work-in-progress shows were a huge hit, and audiences can once again enjoy an afternoon of exclusive performances as four top comedians develop new material ahead of the Edinburgh Fringe.

  • Seeta Wrightson – In her latest show, Seeta dives into life’s ‘messy middle’. Caught between cultures, classes and expectations, she delivers sharp, relatable comedy about not quite fitting in anywhere and discovering that’s exactly where the fun is.
  • Brennan Reece – Tour support for Joe Lycett, Micky Flanagan and Jason Manford and Star of Live At The Apollo, Roast Battle and Celeb Coach Trip, Brennan presents a new hour packed with funny thoughts, daft stories and the occasional swear word.
  • Tom Neenan – The BAFTA and Writers’ Guild nominated star of Radio 4’s The Hauntening brings an hour of storytelling exploring past failures, artistic missteps and current worries, broaching subjects from body image to AI.
  • Sarah Roberts – A Chortle Award and British Comedian of the Year nominee, Sarah previews her new material with the riotously funny style that saw her named one of The Guardian’s Funniest Comedians of the Fringe.

Younger audiences are also well catered for with not one but two hilarious shows. Fresh from five-star success at the Edinburgh Fringe, Darryl J Carrington presents Out of the Box, transforming everyday objects into extraordinary adventures through juggling, physical theatre and audience interaction.

Later in the day, Marcel Lucont brings his festival hit Les Enfants Terribles – A Gameshow for Awful Children, a wild family gameshow in which kids get to be pests, politicians and pétomanes to be crowned the most awful child of the day, while adults are entertained just as much as their children.

A star-studded mixed-bill show will round off the festival from 8pm in the main auditorium, with sets from Lou Wall, Marcel Lucont, Tal Davies, Pravanya Pillay and BBC New Comedian of the Year finalist Raj Poojara. Multi-award-winning comedian Kiri Pritchard-McLean returns as MC, keeping the energy high and the laughs flowing between each set.

Venue Manager Dave Parker commented: “We’re thrilled to be bringing our Comedy Festival back for a second year. Last year’s event was a highlight of our calendar, and we’re excited to build on that success with an expanded programme showcasing some of the biggest talent on the comedy circuit.”
