PODCAST: Hull flash fiction writer shares his Heavenly Body

PODCAST: 23 minutes

In this podcast episode HULL IS THIS editor Jerome Whittingham is joined by ‘flash fiction’ writer Rich Sutherland.

Rich shares his latest 300-word story, Heavenly Body.

Rich’s series of flash fiction pieces is being published weekly, every Thursday, on his website:

Each story, Rich suggests, can be read in the time it takes to boil a kettle.

They’re sometimes a little ‘dark’ in their tone, but all of his stories have something of the unexpected about them. In fact, some readers and listeners will remember Roald Dahl’s Tales of the Unexpected, televised between 1979 and 1988, these stories are very much in that vein.

“It’s not quite Sci-fi,” says Rich, “but there’s something a little bit strange there… There’s something just a little bit odd.”
