Pups in the Park returns to Hull this weekend

Following the success of its inaugural event in Hessle last year, Pups in the Park will return this Sunday, 17th August, in a new location – East Park, Hull. Organised by local mental health charity Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, the event will commence at 10:30am and run until 1:30pm.

The dog show will feature a variety of popular classes, including Best in Show, Waggiest Tail, and Best Rescue, providing an opportunity for dogs of all breeds, ages, and backgrounds to participate. Alongside the competition, visitors will be able to enjoy pet-related stalls, local food vendors, and family entertainment, ensuring the event offers activities and attractions for all ages.

Proceeds from the day will go directly to Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, supporting their ongoing work to provide essential mental health services across the region. The event is sponsored by Ability IT and supported by several local organisations.

Marie-Louise Robinson, Community Fundraiser at Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, commented:

“It’s well known that having a dog, getting out, meeting people, and being in the fresh air all have a positive impact on our mental health. Pups in the Park was a huge success last year, and we’re thrilled to bring it to East Park this weekend. It’s a fantastic way to bring the community together, promote mental wellbeing, and celebrate the joy that dogs bring to our lives – all while raising funds for an important cause.”

This year, The Lord Mayor of Hull, Councillor Cheryl Payne, will formally open the event at 10:30am, with a ceremonial welcome by the Sea Cadets.
